I have always been fascinated with the book of Ruth, I first began interested because of the first part of her story. I have learned more about my life through reading about hers.
Ruth was a woman that all women should strive to be like in my opinion. she was caring, loving and patient. Key word... Patient. Over the course of her book there is numerous examples of her qualities. She lost her husband, that in itself is enough to drive anyone mad. Although she did not let it consume her. After that she stayed with her "mother-in-law", why? Why stay when she had no relation to her? even Naomi, the mother-in-law, did not understand why. In the Bible she asks her why haven't you left me?
"But Ruth said, " Do not urge me to leave or to return from following you. For where you go I will go and where you lodge I will lodge. your people shall be my people, and your God my God." "
Ruth had such determination to stay with someone, I wonder why. Would it be because she worried for Naomi's safety? Or because she knew what she had to do? If Ruth had not gone with Naomi, she would not have met Boaz.
Boaz, a man who showed her genuine love. He did not want to 'Netflix and chill' he got to know her, he respected her, he stood up for her, and sought after her. I read a quote once that said, "Oh my darling you are the missing rib, he will come to find you."
Are you in a place that you think your are stuck? something that you believe that you may never get out of? A relationship or friendship that is not glorify God or building your faith? You are not alone, you are loved, you matter and you will get through this! If you are every discouraged look in the book of Ruth, read it, its only a couple of chapters so it won't take long. God heals where others cannot, he reaches the unreachable, loves the unlovable, teaches the unteachable. He can do this babe!
Anyways, Ruth is an example that I believe that God placed in the Bible for women to follow. Her actions reflect, her true nature. That's why she is my role model.
