"These are the days we live for"

Updated: Sep 28, 2019

A statement uttered at a football game in a crowd of 100+ teens rushing the field because the home team won.

I am confused on what they meant. To me a football game excitement is not exactly what someone will strive for their whole life. It's not wholesome, it begins and shortly it ends, never constant. For me, and possibly most of you, this would not be what you strive to live for. What you want to live for is the small moments and the big moments, for example your wedding day, the birth of your children, or even just graduating high school. Ultimately we should live for the one who created us. In 20 years I will not be thinking about how our football team won a game on a Friday night in September or even how we rushed the field. My mind will be elsewhere, thinking how wonderful it is to be alive and breathing, how gracious is our King that he would have saved my soul when I was so undeserving of his loves. Most of high school moment will pass away yet God remains forever unchanged.

There is a song called "This is what we live for" by Big Daddy Weave that says, "This is what we live for to go where you say go, to let the whole world know your the light in the darkness."

We were created with a purpose, even if you think you don't have one right now. I can assure you that you do! Ultimately our purpose is to glorify Him through everything. He is always with you even when you don't think He is, He gives us power and a purpose. That doesn't mean you know your purpose right now, it takes time.

We live to glorify Him always not just under the Friday night lights. That is temporary when He is everlasting.
